The Roger Yost Gallery presented “The 12 Wines of Christmas” Friday, December 14, launching a public wine tasting and gift-buying party featuring a dozen leading Oregon wineries and a new art exhibit entitled “Wildlife & Wine.”
The “12 Wines of Christmas” were Bjornson Vineyard, Bryn Mawr, Denison Cellars, Hanson Vineyards, Honeywood Winery, J. Wrigley Vineyards, Keeler Estate Vineyard, Lewman, Marks Ridge Winery, Pheasant Valley Winery, Provincial Vineyards and Tartan Cellars. Representatives of each winery were present offering tastes at $1, and glasses from $5 to $8. Most art and bottled wine were marked at special holiday prices.
Santiam Brewery and Blue Dog Mead were also pouring at the event. The gathering was coordinated by the Wine CPAs of First Integrity Certified Public Accountants, a gallery ally.
Original oils by English artists Eric Wilson, David Campbell, and Jason Morgan were shown by the Roger Yost Gallery, along with works by South African Craig Bone, Peruvian Alberto Herrera , and Schim Schimmel of Tucson.
“Schimmel specializes in environmental fantasy,” says Gallery Curator Rebecca Maitland, “and has been involved with the gallery in raising funds for the Jane Goodall Institute. We plan to donate 20% of the proceeds from the sale of any Schimmel art to the Goodall efforts to save chimpanzees in Africa.”
Gallery telephone is 503-370-9951. The art may be viewed online at www.rogeryostgallery.com.
